That frustrates me for some reason, that surgery. I saw a documentary about it in college.
It seems very painful and agonizing.
Asians have such loely eyes. *thinks of Kaoru* and I hope it is not rude to state that.
Amoung black people there is the skin colour and hair thing to consider. I wish people could just be confident and feel good about themselves.
I hope when I have kids I can teach them how to be that way, but it's so difficult considering my own issues.

I think it's possible that when she encounters other young ladies of Asian heritage around the age where they start wanting to control their looks she may hear this.

My undergrad school was composed of 51% Korean students (and 80% of those were women) and they definitely cared about this. One I lived next to in the dorm glued her crease in every morning. I'm not sure it's about non-Asian people noticing it since it's their own self-image driving a desire to be what they see as beautiful.

When I lived in Asia I had friends who wanted that surgery, so I can believe it's the most popular one.

I guess white women are funny about their noses and laugh lines... not to mention hips (sigh) everybody gets their own psychosis.

I also saw the show and was shocked. Who knew they were so worried about the crease when I dont think most of us notice if it is there or not. I hope that my asian daughter wont know about the crease and wont have it to worry about! -Kris
