Last week I highlighted two wonderful organizations that offer products for sale with their proceeds going directly to help those less fortunate in Viet Nam (please see links below.) As I continued to look for places where our dollars would help someone in need, I came across three more very worthy options. We can speak volumes with our dollars, and supporting organizations such as these sends a strong message of caring and awareness.
Vietnam Compassion Gifts from the East Meets West Foundation
The East Meets West Foundation’s “Vietnam Compassion Gifts” catalog is striking and humbling. The gorgeous photographs of Vietnamese children that grace its pages go right through you. Donation amounts listed in the catalog are the actual costs that the Foundation occurs in their daily programs. When you give a compassion gift, your gift recipient will receive a card detailing the gift given in their name.
SPONSOR
You can treat one baby in the Breath of Life program, provide a year of dental care for one child, furnish a classroom, provide vocational training and job placement for young women, provide clean water, and much more. You also have the option of purchasing a four pack of compassion gift cards with either artwork or photos on them. Gifts can be ordered at any time on their website.
Vets With a Mission
Vets With a Mission is an organization comprised of veterans and non vets who work together in Viet Nam. Their humanitarian work is “dedicated to bringing healing, reconciliation and renewal to the people of Vietnam.” They maintain a store on their website to support their work. There you can choose from books, shirts, jewelry and other items.
Saigon Children
The Saigon Children’s Charity is selling adorable holiday cards (for Christmas and Tet) that support their efforts to educate the disadvantaged children of Viet Nam. Your purchase will help them build schools, give scholarships, provide vocational training, and provide education loans to families facing severe poverty.
Next we’ll be looking at sponsorship opportunities in Viet Nam…
