As I searched online for places that one could shop to help those struggling in Viet Nam, I was pleasantly surprised to come across quite a few organizations that do just that. With the holiday season fully upon us, many are still trying to find meaningful gifts to give. The organization that I’m posting about today; the Catalyst Foundation, has remarkable gift options that will directly help children in need in Viet Nam. Some friends and family members may not fully understand the plight of poverty and disease stricken children and their families, but your gift to them can help open their eyes.

I knew of the Catalyst Foundation for their Vietnamese culture camps, but did not know about their humanitarian work, and specifically their dedication to the children of Viet Nam and their work to aid victims of the child trafficking and the sex trade. Their website is full of information documenting their work and the issues they are currently facing. Aside from the lovely items you can purchase to support their work, donations can be make directly to them on their website.

On their website you can purchase gorgeous note cards with artwork representing “My Viet Nam.” 100% of the proceeds go to aid the hundreds of children living in the Kien Gang garbage dump. There are also three beautiful books for sale, all with 100% of the proceeds aiding the Catalyst Foundation and their work in Viet Nam. One of the titles is “When You Were Born in Viet Nam,” which we own and I posted about here.

You can also visit Market Viet Nam, which carries an extensive line of Vietnamese art, home décor, apparel and more. They have a patchwork purse that is adorable and would make a wonderful gift! Orders from both the Catalyst Foundation and Market Viet Nam can be placed online. Proceeds from all Market Viet Nam sales go to the Foundation’s scholarship programs.
