Love is watching your husband and daughter make “cheese” faces across the table at each other. Ella is so in love with her daddy, it just melts my heart. He comes home from work and she gets all giggly and excited, it really is the cutest thing. Sometime we look out the window and wave to him as he pulls into the driveway and as soon as he emerges from his truck she stands up and nods her head ferociously and bangs on the window as if to say “Daddy! I’m here! Come play with me!”

My husband has assumed the role of daddy to this little girl totally and completely. He is fiercely protective of her and is completely enamored with her. There’s already talk of scare tactics he plans to use on boys that dare come around when she hits the dating age.

I love and appreciate how active he is in her day to day life and care. He’s there for the doctor visits and the haircuts. She’s his special helper when the two of them take trips to the Home Depot. He’s got diaper champ changing duty and has never complained. He gets up with her at night and always jumps at the chance to do something for her (and me.) And to top it all off, he thanks and compliments me on my mothering skills (espeically when I've had a day that they're particularly lacking!)
