For today’s Love Thursday post, cupcakes represent the amazing support system that my family is lucky enough to have. Those cupcakes mark the culmination of the many exhausting hours of hard work that led up to Miss Ella’s first birthday party that we threw for her this past weekend. There is no way I would have been able to pull it all off if it wasn’t for the family members and friends that pitched in.
The day before the party my house was full of Ella’s female relatives. Both grandmas, a great grandma and an aunt took off work unasked and made time to come and help get ready. It was amazing to have us all under the same roof working together for Ella’s big day. The morning of the party I was surprised by my best girlfriend who had flown in from the other side of the country to attend the bash. Friends and family members helped set up, clean up, and most importantly: celebrate Ella :)

The support that we received surrounding this party is representational of the support system that has formed for Ella and for my husband and me. We have been supported throughout our entire adoption process and now that Ella’s home, the helping and caring hands have only extended to greater lengths. I can see her forming relationships with these people already and I only hope that they continue to get stronger as she gets older.
So as the party was winding down and desserts were brought out, I was able to see the tangible proof of all of the help and support that we have around us. And, as if you can’t tell from her face, she REALLY enjoyed that cupcake (and all the others that she grubbed from friends and family throughout the evening!)
