I love this picture of Ella with her Uncle Adam and Aunt Kellie at our Tet party. Of course we adore them, but I’m always touched and sometimes have to catch my breath when I see just how much they adore her. I have three younger brothers and Adam is the middle one. I feel that he and I have gotten so much closer since Cole died and I’m really grateful for that. It’s really nice to have a grown up relationship with my little brother.
Kellie’s not technically my sister in law (yet), but I consider her one anyway :) She is such a part of the family and I just love her.

These two are so in love with Ella, it’s insane. To watch my brother melt at the sight of her and to have Kellie take her from me and play with her for hours is so touching. I know that Ella is always on their minds-she’s gotten ‘first’ cards for every holiday and special gifts for every occasion. But the best is the fact that she knows them. When we’re all together, they’re actively involved with her and want to do nothing but play and take care of the baby.

I know that so many people are dealing with family members who don’t support their adoption plans and treat their children harshly (or don’t acknowledge them at all.) This makes me feel extra lucky to have these two in our lives. So today, on love Thursday I wanted to acknowledge these two special people in my family’s life.
