Watch out all you pool owners! Ella's coming for you and she won't stop until she has explored every swimming option available to her! Ella's aunt and uncle have a beautiful swimming pool at their home that provided her with her first big pool swimming experience this past weekend. Now that she’s enjoyed the vastness of their pool, our dinky little blow up baby pool in the backyard may not be good enough for her.
She really did great swimming, and even more importantly, she did great socializing with the other children that were there. The closest child to her age was a two year old little girl who Ella was very interested in. She mainly wanted to check out her feet and her juice, but it was cute to see her interact with Miss J. Ella knew her mom and dad were always close by, and she knew the family members that were there, so she was comfortable to play and have fun and enjoy the other kids. We knew that she felt at ease when her true colors emerged and she clearly let us know (demanded!) that she be taken back in the pool for a second time around. Of course, her daddy took her back in :)

We knew the other families at the barbeque, but for many of them it was their first time meeting Ella. There was only one moment of adoption talk, and that happened in private and the questioner was truly interested in our process. Being inside the house talking about adoption, knowing Ella was having a ball outside with her daddy made me feel so proud. She has adjusted so well in such a short period of time and I am just so proud of her. How could you not be smitten with that sweet little bathing beauty? I think we’re in for a very happy, fun, and completely water logged summer!
