I’ve been reading about attachment parenting for years; long before I became a mom. I was always interested in the topic and the subject of baby wearing just seemed to make sense to me. Now that we have Ella, it makes even more sense.
Before we left for Viet Nam we purchased a front carrier that mom or dad could use and a pouch sling that was my size. We only used the front carrier in country and I would consider it an absolute essential! She loved it, we loved it, it was all around wonderful. We kept her facing out since she loves to see what’s going on around her, but she was still very close and felt comfortable. My husband wore her most of the trip and she fell asleep so many times in that thing! It was also great to have it during take off and landing when we were flying. We felt it was safer than having her loose and it helped her feel more relaxed because she was close to us.

After we had been home a few weeks I broke out the sling to try around the house. I quickly fell in love with my
hotsling! Not only is it adorable, it’s comfortable and the baby loves it! I keep her in the hip riding position and she is completely content there and I don’t have to worry about my left arm being the sole support to my twenty pound girl!
We’ve used it at home, but more often while out shopping. She does ok in the stroller, but I don’t think she likes not being able to see me. So the sling is the perfect answer. She gets to stay extra close to me while still having her arms free and I can push a cart, pull things off shelves, whatever.
I asked for a new fleece hotsling for Christmas and should be getting it soon (it was ordered late) :). I can’t wait to slip Ella into our new cozy fleece sling and stay warm and close this winter!
