When it comes down to it, sometimes the only way to come up with the funds to pay for an adoption is to find a way to bring in more income. When childcare is involved and parents are already working full time jobs, this can seem impossible, but it can be done. Here are some ideas for bringing in more money to help pay for your adoption:

  Pick up extra hours and overtime hours at work.

  If you are in a position that you feel comfortable asking for a raise, do it. If you have been waiting for the perfect time to approach your boss, that time has arrived.

  Work a part time job or work seasonally for a retail store around the holidays. When working seasonally, you will be able to take home a few paychecks without a long commitment.

  If you have a hobby or talent, you have income potential. Sell your crafts at craft fairs or online; tutor local students; give piano lessons; offer child care services in your home or others’ homes.

  As bad as it may sound, moonlighting can bring in a great amount of income without the added expense of childcare if children at home have another adult to stay with them while they’re sleeping. Many large retail stores and shipping companies offer late shifts at a pretty decent pay rate.
