Love Thursday - Father's Day

I had a heart swelling moment yesterday while thinking about this past Father’s Day. It had something to do with a certain little girl and crayons and paper and stickers and glitter and a truly from the heart Father’s Day card. Love is imagining the future relationship that your daughter is going to have with her daddy. She adores him now, but just wait till she can tell him! Imagine all the hand made cards and notes and gifts from her little heart. If daddy wasn’t already wrapped around her little finger, I have no doubt that her little grasp will become even tighter.

Love is that on the two occasions that I stepped away from the computer while writing this Love Thursday post I walked straight into some really sweet daddy – daughter moments. The first one had to do with a favorite new Laurie Berkner music and singing dvd and watching my husband help Ella stomp around to the music. The second was after I heard a thud and came out to see him holding and comforting the little miss who had just whacked her head on the floor (don’t worry – she’s fine!) I wonder which member of the duo is more taken with the other, because they’re both clearly smitten.

I know it’s a bit belated, but Father’s Day was nice; we got to spend it with both grandpas over a really good lunch where Ella literally ate for two hours straight. She presented the “kids” card to daddy and was pretty pleased with herself :) Every now and then my husband makes a comment that I think is actually a warning to the future suitors that may cross Ella’s path. Of course we have a very long time before we need to be thinking of such things, but I predict that this daddy’s going to have a hard time letting his little girl loose into the world!

The shirt is way cute!!!!! I kind of know what you mean. Even though we are about 6 months from getting our daughters, my husband has done things like bought them each shirts he found that say "Daddy thinks I'm Awesome". He has already said that any boy who thinks he is good enough for his daughters will have to go through him. Can you imagine what he is going to be like once we get them here?

I tease him for being so protective of girls who aren't here yet but, I wouldn't have him any other way. This entire process of adopting has brought something out of him that is hard to explain. He tells everyone he knows everytime he sees them all about the fact that we are adopting and what they will be named and everything you can imagine. He use to be shy and reserved.

Debra, that is so sweet :) It must be amazing and heart warming to see him transform-you're going to have some daddy's girls on your hands (and I'm sure you'll all love it!) :)

I know!!! I think it is goingto be way too fun!!!! I can hear them now when I say they can't do something, they will say "but Daddy said. . . " at which point I will have to ask daddy what he said. I was a daddys' girl and I can't ask for anything better for my own daughters.
