Well, our house is officially on the market. You know how when you decide to cut all your hair off, the days before your salon appointment your long hair looks amazing? Well, we’ve been having a little bit of that happening. I absolutely feel moving is the right thing to do, but every so often I waver. I know where everything is here, this is Ella’s home and she’s starting to recognize it, it’s gotten to be comfortable. But…the neighbors are not the friendliest, there are no kids around that we’ve ever seen, we’ve quickly outgrown our space and it’s far from family. So, we’re officially moving and actually had our first house showing yesterday.
I’m not terribly worried, but wonder how Ella’s going to do with the change. She has adjusted well and continues to get more and more comfortable with us and her world. How is she going to handle having her surroundings completely changed without any way to fully explain things to her?

We’re going to be extra aware of her mood and give her lots of extra mommy and daddy time to help her know that although our location may change, we’re still there. Of course our cats will be there too, so they should bring her some familiarity.
Plus, we’ll be staying with her grandma, grandpa and great grandma while we house hunt and she adores them! She’s had her own room there since she came home (my mom’s praying for the day she’ll be allowed to stay over for a grandma – granddaughter sleep over) and she’s very familiar with it. Hopefully we will be able to spend some more time there before the actual move.
If anyone has moved shortly (or not so shortly) after they brought their child home…how did it go? I would love to hear your stories and experiences!
